To address overpopulation issues, Capital Development Authority (RAJUK), the governing authority has taken the initiative of developing housing facilities at the outskirt of Dhaka. These housings are located at Purbachal, Keraniganj, Uttara etc.

However, to accommodate the never-ending rise of population, the authority is getting rid of public green spaces, playing fields and water bodies. Only the essential, very small spaces are left, which will fail to serve the large community.
