The sunken interior gallery space is kept without any partition walls, to ensure a monumental space with open floor plan. The exhibitor can hang or erect temporary exhibition boards to showcase the artworks or photographies. A visitor can enjoy the sunken space by the long horizontal slit, can see the vibration of the train passing by through the water waves. Roof is kept afloat, allowing natural skylight to enter throughout the day.
Entry lobby serves as a transition space for a visitor to enter different functional spaces. This semi-open space delivers a city-street vibe, allowing visitors to interect with each other, leading to cave-like indoor exhibition space and outdoor open to sky exhibition space. Perforated metal sheets are used as the floor material for the center area, allowing the rainwater to drain and get collected for reuse.
A visitor can enjoy the serene water-body and watch the activities of the exhibition space from the semi-public outdoor space to the east of the site.
