To address social and environmental issues like community segragation, unsafe pedestrian movement, water pollution, lack of recreational space, the project ‘toGather’ proposes several communo-recreational facilities around a lake of a dense residential area to preempt the revival of the social fabric.
Poorly planned neighborhoods are not only creating urban problems, but also creating socio-economic barriers among communities- leaving the communities segragated. People are not caring about the sanctity of the space they live in, which also results into crimes, which is on a constant rise.
Due to centralization and scope of work, million and millions of citizen of al over the country are gathering in Dhaka, an oversaturated city, increasing verious urban problems. Traffic Jam, housing crisis, lack of infrastructural facilities like waste water management, rainwater drainage, gas line connection, waste treatment plant etc. are increasing day by day. Like other oversaturated cities of the world, the people living in Dhaka are facing identity crisis, as public spaces are disappearing. Going to restaurants once a week or month is the only form of recreation left for them. The kids and teenagers are drowning themselves in the black mirrored world of android phone and laptops. Having no public and appropriate interactions, they are developing verious mental and physical diseases.
